Motability Extends New Vehicle Payment Until the End of 2024

The Motability Scheme provides an affordable way for disabled individuals and their families to lease a brand-new car. The Scheme recently announced that it has extended the £750 New Vehicle Payment until the end of 2024.

What is the New Vehicle Payment?
Motability first introduced the New Vehicle Payment in February 2022. The payment aims to assist customers with the rising costs of new vehicles. Originally set at £250, it was increased to £750 in March 2023.
The New Vehicle Payment can be used to cover some or all of the Advance Payment of a vehicle. The Advance Payment is the amount required upfront for some large or high-specification vehicles. This allows individuals to access a broader range of models.
It's also worth noting that you can choose not to use your New Vehicle Payment towards an Advance Payment. If you decide on this option, you will receive the payment from Motability within a week of taking delivery of your car.
How does the New Vehicle Payment work?
The New Vehicle Payment will be sent directly to your chosen dealership, requiring no action on your part. Our Motability Specialists will handle all of the paperwork for you.
If the Advance Payment for your desired vehicle exceeds £750, you will need to pay the difference. Alternatively, if you choose a vehicle with an Advance Payment below £750, the remaining amount will be refunded to you. This will be processed within 1-2 weeks of you taking delivery of your car.

Who’s eligible for the New Vehicle Payment?
If you are new to the Motability Scheme and place an order for your first vehicle before the end of 2024, you will be eligible for the New Vehicle Payment.
For existing Scheme customers who have not yet received their payment, this will be processed when you get your next vehicle. This applies even if the vehicle is delivered after 2024.
Please note that the New Vehicle Payment is a one-time benefit and is not available with every new vehicle order.
